Hythe Beauty Salon
Where Beauty is Inclusive and Personalised.
Located in the heart of Hythe High Street, Hythe Beauty Salon was created to provide a welcoming, inclusive beauty space where every client feels understood, supported and cared for.
Since opening its doors, the salon has become known for its personalised approach to beauty, offering everything from skincare and facials to massage therapies, nails, brows and lashes. Every treatment begins with understanding the individual needs of the client, ensuring recommendations, products and services are tailored to create a comfortable and considered experience.
For co-founder Grace Crofton, creating the salon was about more than beauty treatments. It was about creating a space where people from all backgrounds feel welcome and represented.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Hythe Beauty Salon was co-founded by Grace Crofton and her business partner Danielle Kemal.
After returning home to Kent following the pandemic, Grace wanted to build a business that drew upon the experience she had developed during six years working within the beauty industry in London. As a mixed-race woman growing up in Hythe, she recognised there was a lack of inclusive beauty services and education available locally.
Rather than accepting that gap, she decided to help change it.
Together, Grace and Danielle set out to create a salon that felt welcoming, personal and accessible to everyone. That vision remains at the heart of Hythe Beauty Salon today.
The Hythe Beauty Salon Experience
What sets Hythe Beauty Salon apart is its commitment to personalised care.
The team believes beauty should never feel intimidating or one-size-fits-all. Every client arrives with different goals, concerns and experiences, and every treatment begins with a conversation. Through one-to-one consultations, the team takes time to understand each individual before recommending treatments or products.
Whether a client is visiting for a facial, wellness treatment, nail appointment or brow service, the focus remains the same: creating an experience that feels comfortable, supportive and tailored to their needs.
This thoughtful approach has helped the business build strong relationships with clients and establish itself as a trusted part of the local community.
In Conversation With Grace Crofton
Alongside building a successful salon, Grace has navigated many of the realities that come with entrepreneurship.
Learning to Trust the Journey
When asked about the biggest challenges she has faced as a business owner, Grace speaks candidly about risk.
Starting and growing a business often requires making decisions without certainty, and for Grace, one of the biggest lessons she has been learning is to trust her instincts while remaining true to her vision. Along the way there have been mistakes, challenges and difficult decisions, but each experience has contributed to her personal and professional growth.
Like many business owners, she has learned that growth rarely happens without stepping outside of your comfort zone.
Her advice for Future Business Owners
"Take the leap and go for it."
She also emphasises the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people.
“Having a strong support system and a team who genuinely believe in your vision can make all the difference when challenges arise.”
Supporting the Community Through Inclusive Beauty
At its heart, Hythe Beauty Salon represents the power of creating spaces where people feel welcome, understood and represented. By combining expertise with genuine care, Grace and her team continue to build a business that contributes positively to the wellbeing and confidence of people across Hythe and the surrounding area.
